MHCLC WOMEN’S GROUP CHRISTMAS POTLUCK
AND
RED CANYON HIGH SCHOOL BREAKFAST
After enjoying a delectable potluck at the home of Peggy Thompson on December 12, twelve members began the task of stuffing 60 Santa Stockings—donated by WalMart—with nonperishable breakfast items donated by women of Mount of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church. The stockings would be presented to Red Canyon High School students. After stuffing the stockings, the members gathered in the living room and sang Christmas Carols accompanied by Donna Johnson on guitar.
Those participating included Peggy Thompson, Dorothy Distelhorst, Laurie Ederton, Donna Johnson, Phyllis Owens, Jeanine and Juniper Kenney, Susan Christensen, Jeane Trover, Norma Broten, Alexandra Binek, Teri McKenna, Jill Baron, Trish French and Joyce Nielsen.
On December 14, the MHCLC Women’s Group served a breakfast of sausage and egg casseroles, a variety of muffins and nut breads, orange juice, fruit snack packages, and other assorted fruit drinks to Red Canyon High School students and staff. Each student was given a Santa Stocking. Tom Wade, principal, verbalized his appreciation on behalf of the students and staff. As we had more food packages than would fit in 60 stockings, the extra food was delivered to the RCHS in Eagle.
Individuals preparing and serving breakfast were Pastor Scott Beebe, Lisa Pelchat, Aly Pelchat, Laurie Ederton, Norma Broten, Betsy Holter, Deb Sarthou, Ann Constien, Christie Hochtl, Blondie Vucich, Susan Christensen, Phyllis Owens, Diana Johnson, Joyce Nielsen, Donna Johnson and five of her students. Thanks to each of you for spreading Christ’s love for all humankind through your service to students and staff at Red Canyon High School during this Advent Season.
